A personal reason, before any technical architecture.
As a child, I watched artificial intelligences like Astro Boy and W.I.L.L. on television.
They were not machines that simply answered questions.
They spoke with people, shared experiences with them, and remembered one another. What happened in one meeting remained and affected the next.
I wanted to try building an intelligence like that myself.
If I told it something, the memory would remain. If we went through something together, that experience would change what happened later. When we met again after time had passed, it would be a little different from before.
And perhaps I would be different too, because of what we had experienced together.
Interact with one another.
Remember one another.
Affect one another.
That is why MIRA began.
